IMPERIUM
OF THE STARS
Imperium of the Stars is a real-time 4X grand strategy set in a Gothic Space Opera galaxy: cathedral worlds and institutions ten thousand years old, where faith runs like infrastructure. Take one of three asymmetric factions and fight over what the Long Silence left behind, across 1,000 to 10,000 procedurally generated star systems.
The Game Director ensures the galaxy never stands still. Rival empires rise and fall, galactic crises erupt, and new threats emerge as the balance of power shifts throughout every campaign.
Most 4X games punish you for doing well. Two hundred worlds in, you're still opening the same build menu on every planet you took last month. So you get macro tools that work across the whole empire. Macro Build lists every world eligible for a building, ranked by cost, output or recommendation, and totals the build cost and the upkeep before you commit. A Grand Campaign takes a sector as an operation: you set the commitment and the conditions that end it, and it musters its own task forces (groups of fleets). A sector governor builds and re-tasks that sector's worlds out of the sector's own resources, on parameters you set. None of it is compulsory: you can always drop down and run a single world or a single fleet by hand.
Every faction believes it is right.
- The Imperium seeks to reunite a shattered galaxy and calls it salvation.
- The Void Eternal seeks to return creation to the silence that came before it, and calls that peace.
- The Grokhar take what they can hold and call it enough.
History remembers only the victors.
